Privacy Policy

This is our privacy notice: what data leaves your PC, why, and who processes it. The short answer: almost none.

Effective October 25, 2026 · Last updated: October 25, 2026

This English version is provided for convenience. If there is any discrepancy, the Spanish version (ver en español) prevails.

In short

  • No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies and no telemetry.
  • The apps work on your PC and store everything on your PC (their data folder and your Videos folders).
  • The little that goes out to the internet is for update checks, the online features you choose to use (party chat, optional AI, help assistant, network checks) and donations. Details, app by app, below.
  • We don’t sell or share data with anyone for advertising.

1. Who is responsible

The party responsible for this privacy notice is Christian Calvo (“El Viejo Odioso”), author of the WZ Suite, in Mexico. Contact for any privacy matter: christian.calvo@outlook.com (Spanish or English).

This document applies to the wzcontrol.app site and to the apps WZ Control, WZ Audio, WZ Defender (beta), WZ Creator (beta) and WZ Meta (announced for November 5, 2026).

2. The website

  • Hosting: the site is static HTML hosted by IONOS. Like any web server, IONOS logs technical data about each visit (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and referring page) to run and protect the service. We don’t use those logs to identify you or to build profiles.
  • No cookies or analytics: the site doesn’t use Google Analytics or any other measurement or advertising tool, and it sets no cookies. Fonts, images and videos are served from this same site (nothing is loaded from third parties).
  • Local storage: the site only stores two preferences in your browser (localStorage): the language you prefer for the manuals and whether you closed the language notice. They stay in your browser and are never sent.
  • Downloads: the apps’ .zip files are downloaded from this same site.

3. Update checks (all apps)

WZ Control, WZ Audio, WZ Defender and WZ Creator fetch their version.json file from wzcontrol.app (at most once a day, or when you press “Check for updates”) to see whether there’s a new version. That request carries none of your data: only the app’s name and version in the “User-Agent”. Like any connection, the server sees your IP address (see section 2). If you accept an update, the app downloads the .zip from this site and checks its digital signature before installing it.

4. The site’s help assistant

The manual search runs in your browser. When the AI assistant is active, asking a question sends to a service of ours on Cloudflare Workers (Workers AI, by Cloudflare, Inc.): your question, the manual excerpts the search found and, for context, the last two questions and answers of that conversation. The AI generates the answer and we don’t store the questions or the answers. To prevent abuse, a temporary in-memory count of how many questions arrive per IP address (6 per minute, 40 per hour) is kept and discarded automatically. Cloudflare processes the request under its own privacy policy. Don’t type personal data into your questions.

5. WZ Control

All the analysis of your PC, the measurements, the change history and the captures stay on your PC. It only connects to the internet to:

  • Check the network and the match server: it pings and traces the route to the Warzone server and the hops in between. To show you the city, the provider and the distance it queries ipinfo.io and ip-api.com with the match server’s IP address and your public IP (results are saved on your PC so the lookup isn’t repeated).
  • Speed test (only when you run it): it downloads and uploads test data with Cloudflare (speed.cloudflare.com) or OVH.
  • Your BIOS version: to tell you whether there’s a newer BIOS, it queries the manufacturer’s support site (ASUS or MSI) with your motherboard model; for other brands it only gives you a search link.
  • Installation: the installer downloads whatever is missing from its official sources: PresentMon, LibreHardwareMonitor and PawnIO from GitHub and .NET from Microsoft.

6. WZ Audio

Your profiles, presets, calibrations and history stay on your PC. It connects to the internet for:

  • Party chat (only if you use it): to find your squad, the app connects to our signaling server on Cloudflare Workers, which receives the room code, the name you type and the technical connection messages (WebRTC, which include IP addresses), and forwards them only to the members of that room. Voice doesn’t go through that server: it travels end-to-end encrypted and directly between the PCs (WebRTC, DTLS-SRTP) and nobody records it. STUN servers from Cloudflare and Google are used to connect and, if a direct connection isn’t possible, a Cloudflare TURN server may relay the audio, which stays encrypted. Because of how a direct connection works, the members of your room can see your IP address: only join rooms with people you trust.
  • Installation: Equalizer APO is downloaded from its official page (SourceForge) and VB-CABLE (optional) from VB-Audio’s page.

7. WZ Defender (beta)

It records the screen on your PC and reads the game’s text with Windows text recognition, also on your PC. Your clips and stats (including the player names that appear on screen) are saved in Videos\WZ Defender and are not uploaded to the internet.

AI analysis (optional): only if you request it for a clip and have pasted your own Google Gemini key, that clip is uploaded to the Google Gemini API for analysis and deleted from Google when it’s done. That upload is made with your key, under your Google account, and is governed by Google’s terms and privacy policy; with the free key, Google may use the content to improve its products. Your key is stored only on your PC.

8. WZ Creator (beta)

It reads WZ Defender’s clips and stats on your PC and saves the videos it creates in Videos\WZ Creator. It doesn’t post anything to your social networks: the app only opens each network’s upload page in your browser and you decide what to upload.

  • AI (optional): if you use it with your own Gemini key, a lightweight copy of the clip (720p) is uploaded to Google Gemini and deleted from Google when it’s done; the same note about Google’s terms as in WZ Defender applies. WZ Creator never reads WZ Defender’s key.
  • FFmpeg: when you press «Descargar ffmpeg» (Download ffmpeg), it’s downloaded from gyan.dev or, if that fails, from GitHub.

9. WZ Meta and the suggestion form

WZ Meta hasn’t been released yet; when it comes out, this policy will be updated with what it does. The suggestion form on its page doesn’t send anything to any server: it opens your email app with the message ready and you decide whether to send it. If you do, the email reaches us like any other (see section 11).

10. Donations (Stripe)

Donations are made on a Stripe payment page. Stripe receives and processes your payment data under its privacy policy; we never see or store your card details. Stripe shows us the basic details of each donation (for example, the amount, the date and the name or email you gave), which we use only to keep a record of donations and, if needed, to reply to you.

11. Emails you send us

If you write to us (questions, bug reports, suggestions), we use your email address and whatever you send (for example, screenshots or log files) only to reply and to improve the apps. We don’t share it with anyone or use it to send you advertising.

12. Data that stays on your PC

Each app keeps its settings, history and logs in its folder (for example C:\WZControl\data), and WZ Defender and WZ Creator save their videos in your Videos folder. We have no access to any of that. To delete it, delete those folders (WZ Control and WZ Audio also let you return to the initial state before removing them).

13. Third parties involved

Depending on the features you use, these are involved: IONOS (site hosting), Cloudflare (help assistant, party chat server, STUN/TURN and speed test), Google (Gemini, STUN), Stripe (donations), ipinfo.io and ip-api.com (IP address location), OVH (speed test), ASUS / MSI (BIOS version), GitHub, Microsoft, gyan.dev, SourceForge and VB-Audio (downloads). Some have servers outside Mexico, so that data may be processed in other countries. Each one has its own privacy policy.

14. Children

The apps and the site are not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.

15. Your rights

At any time you can request access, rectification, cancellation or opposition (“ARCO” rights under Mexican law) regarding the data we hold about you (in practice: emails you sent us and donation records), or withdraw your consent, by writing to christian.calvo@outlook.com. We will reply within a reasonable time.

16. Security

The site runs over https only, updates are digitally signed and party chat voice is encrypted. No system is 100 % secure, but we try to collect the minimum so there’s the minimum to protect.

17. Changes to this policy

If an app adds a feature that sends new data, we will update this page before or at the same time it’s released. The current version will always be here with its date.
